Program like Outlook task manager?

I've been hunting around for a program that acts like the section of Outlook that lets you make and manage tasks for yourself... but I've been unsuccessful. I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client, and I don't want to always be opening Outlook just for task management. Also, I feel that a program that focuses just on tasks might be a little better and less Microsoft than Outlook.

That's good, except for two things. I'm looking for something much more simple - something only I'll be using, not a team of workers. Also, I was hoping for an application, not a web interface. That's just my personal preference.

Any other suggestions?

oh, come on, I'm trying here...
have you thought about getting a palm? they have tasks built into them and they work really well. The palm desktop does it too...
I'll look some more when I can... Got to drive now.

I have, I'm just not willing to put out the money to get a nice one yet. For now I'm going to just keep it all in my laptop. I know there's a program out there somewhere for this, I just haven't found it yet... Thanks for your efforts, though.
