Want to make something simple for gaming, fast but cheap, so i looked around newegg and got together a list of basic components that i can use to build one, just want opinions from you guys on if you think the cost is worth it, what else I need, if I could do better, possible problems I might experience, etc etc.

Anyway here's my list...

CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ940XCGIBOX

Mobo - ASUS M4A88T - Newegg.com - ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

PSU - Corsair CMPSU - Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply (Suggested by Slaymate)

Fan - Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Universal CPU Cooler - Newegg.com - Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Universal CPU Cooler 120mm Magnetic Fluid Dynamic LED Fan and Fan Controller/Heatsink Rev.1 with 1156 Brackets, free TX-3 Thermal Paste Included Inside

Case - COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP - Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

HDD - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB - Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB 5400 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Opical Drive - SAMSUNG Black SH-B123L - Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model SH-B123L LightScribe Support - Blu-Ray Drives

And then of course I'll need RAM - Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL (Suggested by Slaymate)

And then ill throw on Windows 7 Ultimate

All this accumulates to about $923, with tax it will be around $987. Worth it? Suggestions? Anything helps

Nice finds, guess when it comes to saving money, the power supply isn't really the 1st thing i should cheap out on huh .

Not really necessary to use Corsair RAM, I like the sticks you chose, good deal for this 2x4gb kit including a 2GB flash drive, can never have enough external storage =P.

Updating my build plan sheet with these components, hope I'm able to get up the money for this soon, thanks a bunch Slaymate
