I7 930 CPU fan error

Hi
I have an 8 month old computer and recently noticed that the CPU fan was disabled whilst running the AI suite with fan control. I enabled the CPU fan to standard and rebooted. I now get a CPU fan error whilst booting.

Does the I7 930 CPU actually have a fan or does it use different technology to cool. I have a heat synch and cooler installed also but was wondering whether the error message appears because I have enabled the fan that doesn't actually exist.

The "cpu fan" is the fan built into the heatsink. The fan must be plugged into the power header ,on the mobo, labeled "CPU". I'd don't have an Asus mobo so I can't help you with your AI Suite.
