Hey guys, ive been asking a few questions lately about buying gaming systems and such, but after reading through a few threads ive gotten all enthusiastic about doing my first build. this is the system ive been looking at putting together:

CASE
CoolerMaster Elite 430 Black with window [RC-430-KWN1] - $64.00 : PC Case Gear

MOBO
ASUS P6X58D-E Motherboard [P6X58D-E] - $239.00 : PC Case Gear

PSU
Paradigm PCs

CPU
Intel Core i7 950 [BX80601950] - $319.00 : PC Case Gear

RAM
Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3T1K3/6GX (3x2GB) DDR3 [KHX1600C9D3T1K3/6GX] - $95.00 : PC Case Gear

DVD DRIVE
Paradigm PCs

HDD
Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB WD7501AALS [WD7501AALS] - $99.00 : PC Case Gear

GPU
Gainward GeForce GTX460 SE 1GB [VGGAPXGTX460SE] - $189.00 : PC Case Gear

i would probably think about doing SLI a little later due to funds and all. so just let me know what you think? and would everything be compatible? im not to savvy with this **** so any help or advice appreciated.

(oh and the prices on the websited are either in Australian Dollars or New Zealand Dollars)

I'm going to play havoc with what you have, but there is a method to my madness.

Case: same (personal preference)

Mobo: ASUS P8P67 PRO Motherboard [P8P67-PRO] - $235.00 : PC Case Gear

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600 [BX80623I72600] - $329.00 : PC Case Gear

PSU: Corsair TX-850 Power Supply [CMPSU-850TXAU] - $178.00 : PC Case Gear

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM (2x2GB) DDR3 [GS-F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM] - $79.00 : PC Case Gear

DVD: same

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX [WD1002FAEX] - $99.00 : PC Case Gear

GPU: same

Why go with a 1366 when the 1155 will top it? The 2600K would be preferable to the 2600, but it is $70 more and sold out on this site (Arc has it, though).

Cooler Master may have great cases, but steer clear of their power supplies. That Corsair is not only rock solid, but it is a whole lot cheaper, too (but not modular, but that's what wire management is for).

The 2600 uses dual channel RAM and G.Skill is top notch.

The 1TB was the same price as the 750GB. ;)

Hey, Trotter, thanks a lot for that advice mate, helped me out a lot. ive just discovered that most the Australian sited ive been looking at for my parts often dont deliver to New Zealand, but ive stumbled across a New Zealand computer tech site which seems pretty good, so ive thrown together another build, Based on the one Trotter gave me, with a few changes, to the case, because they didnt have the cooler master elite 430 on there, and to the HDD because when i think about it i dont think ill need more than 500gbs of space. anyway so here it is,

Case
Paradigm PCs

MOBO
Paradigm PCs

PSU
Paradigm PCs

RAM
Paradigm PCs

DVD
Paradigm PCs

HDD
Paradigm PCs

GPU
Paradigm PCs

so again, any advice or anything i would love to here, just remember this is my first build so im not to savvy with the tech talk, but im very keen to learn.

Thanks guys

Oh and cpu is

Paradigm PCs

oh and also, i was wondering if that psu (Paradigm PCs) might be a little overkill for this setup?
