New build, haven't been active in a year and half

I used to be on these forums daily, I used to spend all my time reading about new parts, upcoming tech, etc. I don't do that much anymore.

Last machine I built was my i7 build, but as I understand it things have changed. That was my home gaming machine, now I need an office computer.

Yes it saddens me to ask now, but what is the most efficient way to get a $600-700 build.....and what has changed in that time?

Normally I'd say you should go with an AMD system with your budget. But the new Intel i5's Sandy Bridge cpu's are screaming fast and the built-in video is more than enough for an office pc. I think all this combo needs is a optical drive.
