Hello everyone, I am a photographer and new to the forum. I built a desktop last February with a Asus M4A785-M mother board + AMD Athalon quad core 2.6 ghz CPU. I thought I made the mistake of buying a board not compatible with ddr3 since I use a lot of applications and casual gaming but the ddr2 seems to be holding its own. I have three ddr2 2gb PNY optima 800mhz sticks with one slot left and I was wondering if it would be wroth adding a fourth slot to make it 8gb of ram? Would that mean both pairs would be running dual channel? Also, how hard is it to overclock ram? I heard I can easily overclock my 800mhz sticks to 1066?

Thanks

This is a guess as I'm relatively new to this, I'm assuming your using a 64 bit OS?

A fourth stick will speed you up as it will get you into dual channel. A single stick of 2GB PNY will only cost you about $33 on NewEgg so go for it.

I'm not into overclocking so someone else will have to field that part.
