i7-2600 help! please!!

Hello,

This is my first build and i went with an i7-2600 with asus p8p67 motherboard.

I dont know if i plugged the sata cables in wrong slot or something for my hdd but it seems to run slower than my i3-540

i took the hdd from my i3-540 and reformatted it

also it seems that when i'm running a few programs the system freezes for a few seconds. please help!!!

oh and a corsair GS800 psu

It might be your hard drive that is slowing down your system, the WD green drives are recommended as storage drives. They run at slower speeds, so if you are trying to run multiple programs at once, the drive might be bottlenecked, creating a slight freeze...and the feeling of a slower computer.

ooh i defragged and registry cleaned also i guess it was because there was traces of my old i3-540 programs on the hdd that slowed it down

what do you think of the WD caviar black as a main drive? my boot time is slower on my i7 than when i had my i3.... pretty sad i used the same hdd for both of them too
