Can't delete .chm files

I am trying to delete a folder of my hard drive but I can't seem to delete the .chm files within the folder.

Can anyone help me out with this please?

Oh I am running XP pro if that makes a difference

Try deleting them in safe mode (press F8 during startup)

.chm files are registered in the system when installed. you have to unregister them to remove them. The files are for the help system so I hope you know what you are deleting...

I read a tip/trick in this fourm , about deleting the folders that doesnt delete normally [by using the del or shift+del] . I cant find the link , to post in here :-( ,
BTW ,the procedure is


** Change the settings in the 'folder options' to 'open folders in new window' option, then try to delete the folder. ***
