Wireless G will work too, but you can get a wireless N one for the same price and its more "future proof" so might as well get it. Not only does it have a wider range, but its also faster (if you ever get a wireless N router later on).
So far, I have everything picked out except for the GPU, I'd like some feedback on my selections, as well as some recommendations for an nVidia GPU. I am thinking about the GTX 460 because I had the GTX 260 in my previous build and that was a great card. I will be running 1920x1080 resolution on a 23" LCD, so I need a decent card if I want to run on high details.
I've gone a little bit over my budget, but that's okay. I am willing to spend ~$200 on the GPU.
I saw 3 different versions of the GTX 460 available on newegg:
-GTX 460 SE (1GB)
-GTX 460 (768 MB)
-GTX 460 (1 GB)
Obviously the latter being the best.
Is 1 GB a must for my desired resolution? My main game right now is Starcraft II. I know that is more CPU intense than GPU intense, but at 1920x1080, I would think I need some power.
Also, what about the new GTS 450. That seems pretty decent for a good price. Obviously not as good as the GTX 460....
Thanks guys..I will probably be ordering everything in the wish list the week of January 16, so hopefully the prices will drop by then! If not, I will probably still buy it then since I am already suffering after 2 days without gaming
The thing is, the Core 2 Duo E8400 that I bought 2 years ago is still the same price now that it was back then, so maybe the prices will remain the same....
