Hi, i'm thinking of buying this pc:
COOLERMASTER ELITE 370 € 41,40 €
AMD PHENOM II X4 955 (3.2GHZ) BLACK BOX SKT AM3 138,90 €
GSKILL KIT 4GB DDR3 1600MHZ RIPJAW (CL9) 48,70 €
LC-POWER 650W GREEN POWER V2.3 (LC6660GP3) 52,80 €
ASUS DVD±R 24X DRW-24B3ST BLACK BULK (SATA) 22,00 €
ASUS M4A88TD-M EVO/USB3 99,60 €
SAMSUNG 500GB SATA II 16MB F3 38,70 €
SMC EZ CONNECT G WIRELESS PCI 54MB 2.4GHZ (SMCWPCI-G2) 14,30 €
PNY GeForce GTX 460 OC - 1 GB GDDR5 - PCI-Express... 143,90 €
LG Monitor TFT 23" wide W2361V-PF (2 ms) 169 €

TOTAL 785€ = 1048 dollars
Do you think this is a good pick for the price and function? The LC-POWER 650w should be enough for this sistem right?

SAMSUNG 500GB SATA II 16MB - I would bump that up to a 32mb buffer. And if you want a media center, go with at least a 1 terabyte drive. I do video blogging on youtube, and a lot of nature photography. When your dumping 8 gig memory cards on a hard drive every few days, its gonna fill up. Also, that 16mb buffer is outdated.

If your going with 4 gigs of memory to start with, I'am going to guess that your using windows 7 - 64 bit?

Yes, that is correct texashiker, I will use Windows 7 - 65 Bit.
About the HDD the plan is to add one more 500gb disc in the near future and put it to work in Raid 0, I will se if I can find a 32mb buffer one, thanks for the advice.
In relation to the PSU, that one is not available anymore I'm thinking in going with a Corsair CX-600W, what do you think? Will it be enough?

When you raid you need to reformat the disk and lose all the data on their so its best to create the raid array from the beginning or chose a dynamic type of array that allows you to add disks. You know RAID0 offers a speed increase but a potential for data loss.

Yes, a Corsair 600W will run that. Just make sure to not get a "Builder Series" PSU, though... they are crap.

Ok, thanks for the help.
What do you think is best, the Corsair CX-600w or a OCZ StealthXstream II 500 W?
And the hdd, a WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB SATA II 32MB GREEN is better than the Samsung F3 16mb cache?

If the CX-600 is a Builders Series, then go with the OCZ. I realize you are trying to save as much as you can, but the PSU is NOT the place to do that. You want a reliable PSU that isn't going to pop and take out half your stuff. I would suggest this one (only $5 more than the OCZ, but no rebate):
Newegg.com - Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Three 12V rails for a total of 69A.

Go with WD, but get either a Black (fastest) or a Blue. The Green line are mainly for storage and are slow.

I can't buy that one, it's not in the store I'm gonna buy the computer. I don't know what you mean with Builder series??
Can you tell me the diference between a ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 and a ASUS M4A79XTD EVO/USB3
Is the XTD worth the extra 20 bucks?

Theres no point looking at the 87TD when the revised EVO version is cheaper with a couple more features. With the EVO after the rebate there is only $6 difference and the differences are:

Motherboard ....ASUS M4A87TD EVO/USB3, .....ASUS M4A79XTD EVO/USB3
North Bridge .................AMD 870, ...........................AMD 790X
South Bridge ................AMD SB850,.............................AMD SB750
Memory Standard ......DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066, ....DDR3 1800(O.C.) / 1600 / 1333 / 1066
PCI Express 2 PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots (1@ x16 mode, 1@ x4 mode), 2 (one x16 or dual x8 link)
SATA RAID ............. 0/1/5/10 ............... 0/1/5/10/JBOD

Memory compatibility is better on the 87TD but that doesn't matter unless your changing to 2000MHZ ram.

Your choosing an Nvidia card so crossfire compatibility doesn't matter but it may be something to look into if your switching to an ATI graphics card. You are therefore not using the spare PCI expressx16 port so either one it doesn't matter.

JBOD (Just a bunch of disks) array is for combining different capacity disks to create one virtual disk such as when you pick up a bunch of hdd's from old computers e.g. combining a 10gb + 30gb + 60gb = a 100GB JBOD array rather then applying a RAID 0 array which would reduce the amount of disk space to 30gb following the rule of the smallest drive capacity (10x3 = 30 as the smallest drive is 10gb). JBOD offers none of the speed boost of RAID0 and offers minor advantage of RAID0 in data redundancy. Your building an array with new hard drives so this is not a factor.

So really its up to you. Its only $6 so you can spend that on a celebratory bottle of drink. Time for you to hit the search engines and the search features on this forum and find out if one is better to overclock with, but you never mentioned that previously so it may not matter to you.
