I have a Dell Dimension E310 with(I know it's old and crappy):

*Pentium 4 HT 2.80 GHz(unsure of anymore specs)
*PNY Nvidia GeForce FX5200 PCI 512MB
*MAXTOR SATA 60GB
*LG SATA Super-Multi Drive
*(STOCK)SATA TSST-Corp DVD-R Drive
*Kingston 1GB DDR2 PC5300 667 MHz

And I want to upgrade to this:

*Intel Pentium-4 (570j) 3.80ghz 800mhz 1MB Cache LGA775
*Asus Internal SATA 8x Blu-ray Combo BC-08B1LT
*PNY OPTIMA 4GB (2x2GB) Dual Channel Kit DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 Desktop DIMM Memory Modules MD4096KD2-667
*Sparkle SP95GT1024D2LHP GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB DDR2 PCI Low Profile 128-bit CRT HDTV-Out DVI Graphics Card
*Sabrent USB-UF6 6-Port USB 2.0 / FireWire IEEE 1394 PCI Combo Adapter plus 6pin to 4pin Firewire IEEE1394 Cable
*Western Digital 2 TB Caviar Green SATA Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive WD20EARS

Any suggestions and comments greatly appreciated. Note that I only have 2 PCI and 1 PCI-e 2x. Also, I don't want to spend more than $700.

Ouch for your motherboard.

The 9500GT requires at least a 350W PSU, though.

I was going to suggest going with a new mobo/CPU but you have a BTX board... which is about as useful as teats on a boar hog nowadays.

What kind of budget do you have? Maybe we can put something together for you that will kick that E310 in the teeth (it wouldn't take much, BTW).

well, for a new Computer I'm willing to spend around $1,500...and thanks for the warning, lol. what have you got in mind?

What dp you need besides the unit itself? Monitor? Speakers? Mouse/keyboard? If you are satisfied with what you currently have then we can whip you up a wickedly nice shopping list. Of course, Intel's Sandy Bridge chips will be out very shortly so you may want to suffer through until they do as they look to be screamers.

well, I got an awesome Deluxe Keyboard + Mouse combo, a 5.1 surround sound speaker system, but a crappy Dell 19" monitor, I was thinking mostly Two 1920x1080 monitors, with of course a nice GPU(786MB+), one blu-ray drive(I'll use my existing super-Multi drive as a slave) 6GB+ RAM(which of course means a 64-bit processor). And a 500GB+ 10k rpm HDD. I'm not worried as for OS as I will be using Ubuntu. Oh! and a nice X-Fi Blaster sound card.
