Can service pack 2 and service pack 1 computers communicate on the same workgroup?

ya, i have 3 computers. 2 on wireless and 1 is hardwired to the router. The wired computer is service pack 1 and 1 of the wireless is service pack 1 while the other is SP 2. When i try to access the computer on SP2 through the workgroup window, i get an access denied error. But from the SP2 computer i can access the other two computers through the workgroup window.


also if a mod is here can you please move this to the networking forum

EDIT: ok so i got farther, i had to disable the SP firewall on that computer, but now it wants a password? It brings up a dialog box similar to the one when i type 192.168.1.1 it has the computers name/guest as the username and then wants a password. Any way to find it from that computer?

well it should be blank by default, but if you log on to the machine, that is the password you will use. If that doesn't work, then set the password for an account and use that account to connect with.
