what is the best thing to do if you get a bad board from auction site?

Hi the msi board I posted. I had so much trouble with. I think was dead to begin with and the serial number is scrached out. The person i bought it from did it I also can not rma it to msi cuz no serial number. I filed a claim with paypal and hope i get my money back. is it possble to fix board someware else? Mike

Contact the person who sold you this. If they do not accept it back, tell eBay, or wherever you got it.

^^^ Ditto. Lodge complaints with PayPal and eBay (or whoever). Even if the seller claims he didn't know it was bad he still sold it to you knowing it could not be RMAd due to the removed serial number (which should be a HUGE red flag as to where this board came from).

This really scares me me I love building pcs. I hope I get my money back I never buy a used part again. mike

Mike, don't be. I buy used parts every once in awhile. Just remember when auctioning, do some research on the person. Warranty is a plus.
