I am trying to build a computer to use as a workstation during the day for adobe, 3ds max, rhino and other 3d applications. I will use it also for gaming from time to time, so I would like it to be able to do that. I have been researching for a while, but I have never built a computer but I have experience replacing hard drives, ram and video cards and installing new operating systems. I am still wary about putting it all together and forgetting to buy a piece. Also once it is all assembled from what I read you just power it up install the OS and update all the drivers. Is that all?

Intel Core i7 980X Extreme Edition 3.33GHz 12 MB L3 Cache LGA1366
Cooler Master HAF 932 High Air Flow ATX Full Tower
Gigabyte LGA1366 SATA3 ATI CrossFireX ATX Motherboard GA-X58A-UD3R
Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H50 All in One High-performance CPU Cooler CWCH50-1
Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Dominator 6 GB 3 x 2 GB PC3-12800 1600MHz 240-Pin DDR3 Core i7 Memory Kit ---x2
Corsair CMPSU-1000HX 1000-Watt HX Professional Series 80
Intel X25M 120 GB Solid State Drive with Internal SATA and Power Cables
GeForce GTX 580
Seagate Barracuda 7200 1 TB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 32MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Drive

Are there any pieces I have not included or should buy to assemble the computer, and are all of the pieces compatible?

I have listed a GTX 580, however when I search there are multiple online so I am unsure which to buy are they all relatively similar?

Thanks very much in advance,
Ryan

I wouldn't buy the Corsair H50, spend a little more and get the Corsair H70. Here's a link to the review http://www.techist.com/forums/f38/corsair-hydro-series-h70-cwch70-238842/

Corsair Hydro Series H70 High Performance Dual Fan CPU Cooler (CWCH70) - (Sockets LGA 775/1156/1366/AM2/AM3) - FrozenCPU.com

I would buy a single kit of 12GB (3x4GB) memory instead of (2) kits of (3x2GB). These G.Skill's are just as fast as the Dominators.
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8T-12GBRM

I would get this 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 drive over the Intel. The new SandForce controller in the OCZ is pretty fast.
Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I would buy the EVGA GTX 580 when they come back in stock
Newegg.com - EVGA 015-P3-1580-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Here's a guide to setting up your SSD after Windows is installed.

By doing a lot of changes from a friend and suggestions I have come to this build which would be about $800 cheaper and I think would work well?

Alright, I'm going to make those changes and go ahead and order. I appreciate the feedback.

Don't get the ud5... Get the ud3r. I just got it and its phenominal. Every review shows its just as good as the ud5.

My 950 is at 4.09Ghz and took 5min to get it there
