Hi people!
I try to help my friend who doesn't know much about PCs, and complains that his USBs don't see memory sticks anymore.
So, situation is pretty strange:
1- if connected to USB, keyboard, digital camera and mobile phone work fine,
2 - USB flash memories are not recognized (XP see those as unknown device in Device manager),
3- mp3, mp4 player and bluetooth dongle - no sign at all... Anywhere.
I turned off and removed power cable for 30 min, then for whole night. I tried to uninstall everything from USB tree in Device Manager and restarted once, twice, did few small registry changes (solutions from unternet), pushed it to recognize it (search for new devices in Device Manager), checked it out about using new letter for drives... No solution.
All those devices, mp3 and mp4 players, usb sticks are in good working order, I am sure about it. My PC see those.
This problematic machine used those USB memory sticks, this mp3 player...before.
USB slots are older version, not 2.0.
System is XP Pro.
Please, HELP!
Any ideas, solutions...?
Thanks in advance!
