the nvida equivalant to 9800pro

What is the equilalant nvidia card to the 9800pro? In the price area of $200. Or at this level is ati better? I am not looking at the 6800 or anything that expensive.

i think the equivalent is about a 5900 XT, but i think thats a LITLE worse, but i aint sure.

At that performance level, Ati will be better for the price. That is true for ALL cards, unless you are talking the new cards. In that case the Nvidia 6800 level cards beat the Ati X800 cards all the time.
