Hi,

I just installed Windows 7 yesterday, and after some initial small problems everything seems to be fine now, except for this:

I have 4 DVD drives 2 of which are only recognized by Win7.
All 4 drives are LG. I looked in the device manager and also thereo nly two of the drives are listed.
On my old OS (WinXP) all 4 drives were recognized.

Anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks,
Lars

Do all 4 show up in BIOS OK? Are they SATA or IDE? All connections tight?

Why do you need 4 DVD drives? :umm:

I was just going to edit my post and add that in BIOS only 2 of the 4 drives are shown.
So, I guess this is a firmware issue?
The drives work, I can open and close them and all that.

Why I need 4 drives: I don't really need them, but if I want to have 4 drives it should be possible to make this work, no?
Having 4 drives comes in handy when I have to work with different CD or DVD media at the same tiem, so I won't have to open the tray take out one DVD insert a new one, etc. all the time.

I checked for a firmware update on the LG site, but there were some warnings that scared me off....

You check to make sure all the SATA cables are connected? The ability to open and close it is just the power from the molex.
