ok.. i pick up a comp for a lady down the street... i didnt recieve anycds or drivers.. all the drivers are installed but the sound card.. windows cant idenify the type of card it is... any sugestions? thanks

Sound card

Take the card out and there should be either serial numbers or part numbers.Sometimes there on one of the chips but i almost always find a number almost always.Make sure that you discharge any static electricty out of your body first just put your hand on some metel befor you work around inside of any computer.

go to your manufacturers website...the motherboards...they'll have every driver you need

...then it's not a sound card, LOL. You need to know the mobo brand and model and then update the onboard audio drivers from the manufacturer's website.
