ribbon cables in the DV series laptops

I've been having a heck of a time with these cables, mainly the clip for the quick launch buttons/blue lights above the keyboard.

are there any videos online that give pointers on how to reinstall these without damaging the little brown shim on the mother board.

I have a supplier to get better quality cables.

I think you would have to solder the wires onto the controller board.
