Hey guys, so I was going through iBuypower yesterday and found a nice Intel Build.

So I was originally going to go with a budget of $1k, but after seeing the price of the parts on ibuypower and seeing how much of an upgrade were to the ones that I was gonna use, I got to think..

The original build was this: (I'll put links to the products that don't seem like people have heard of before..)
CoolerMaster HAF 922
Asus M4A89GTD PRO: Newegg.com - ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD 1055T 6 Core Proccessor
Corsair 850 Watt power supply
Radeon 6850
Corsair (not sure on this one) : 1333 4gb Ram
1tb hard drive
blue ray reader/writer 24x

And that's about it I beleive, I am buying from TigerDirect retail store, so it comes to about $1k give or take a few dollars.

Now the one on iBuyPower had some noticable upgrades, it had free water cooling, 6gb of ram, the i7 950, and the same case, with an MSI x58 Pro E motherboard.
That came to about $1.2k but for $200 dollars more I got an i7 with a better motherboard, more ram, and free water cooling. With the same video card and power supply as before.

Heres the link to it: iBUYPOWER Computer :: Intel X58 Core i7 Configurator

It'll be like $800 something, add a 6850, a 850 Watt corsair power supply, and a blue ray reader/writer.

The only downisde is, it takes like 20 days to arrive :( But anyways this for like around Juanuary, Febuary, I want to know earlier though, so I know what to do.

Also, is there a difference between the i7 950 and the 1055t? Like why is the i7 950 more expensive if it's only 4 cores and the 1055t is six? I read that every core on the i7 has 2 threads so it's actually 8 cores? (Not sure if this info is correct)

So now, I ask you guys, what should I do? iBuyPower or Build my own?

Corsair RAM is good, but 1333 is low for a gaming rig. "Free" water cooling is pretty vague. It is probably a H50 at best.

I would build it myself, period. iBuyPower and other sites like are there for those who just don't know better.

As for the comparison, the 1055 equals or bests the 950. It is cheaper because it is from AMD and not Intel, simply put. Hyperthreading is not splitting cores... it is letting processes share a core; it is still a quad.

Alrighty, so I should just go with building my own I guess..

So 1055t is better, didn't expect that, do can you guys link me on tigerdirect a good set of ram from corsair? Because I'm gonna gift myself the hard drive ram and case for Christmas then :)

EDIT: Also is that motherboard from newegg that I linked good? My friend recently built one with it and it was super easy to overclock his cpu to 3.3GhZ. Or should I go with the X58?

What's better? The 6850 or the GTX 460? I always wondered that. I will be playing games like BFBC2 on max settings, MAYBE some crysis, and majority of time some WoW.

Okay a bit of clarification on trotters...... clock to clock Intel wins..... But the 1055 has 6 real cores to Intels 4 real 4 "fake" cores.

Truthfuly, sandy bridge is coming reletively soon... and is Intels newest product with a whole new board. Wait if you can for 2mo maybe, and see as p55 1156, and x58 1366, are being killed off with 1155 and 2011., thus prices will tumble on them..

So should I go with the X58 Pro E or the M4A89GTD pro/USB 3.

Same with the video card, 6850 or gtx 460.

EDIT: nvm, I'm going with the 1055T and that's AMD, the x58 is for intel proccessors only.

Yeah, since my friend built his PC recently, I went a couple times to TD with him and literally saw no G.Skill at all.

Also, one more question how do you think this AMD Anthlon 64 X2 4000+ 2.1Ghz With a EVGA 9400 GT and 2gb of RAM will run BFBC 2 on low settings? I went to can you run it and I passed all the test except for the CPU and GPU recommended requirements.

I saw a video recently where this guy ran it with a 2.4GhZ intel processor and a high end graphics card, I believe it was one in the GTX line of cards and he was running it well. So I don't know if it's more dependent on Graphics or Processor.

EDIT: Oh and I found an XFX 6850 and a Sapphire 6850 the sapphire was cheaper, which one should I get?

Is seagate barracuda a good brand for hard drives?
Is this one good:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4691122&CatId=2459

Also, what blu ray reader do you recommend me at TD? Can they read normal DVD's?

Does this one sound any good? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4639106&CatId=3634

Haven't decided on a power supply, is this good?

here's the whole build:http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/wishlist/wishlist.asp?WishId=83B61D04-F6EA-45D6-B2D3-B06FB12358F3&Desc=$1k%20Gaming%20PC

All came down to $894.93 without shipping, but most of these parts are available at the store. I feel like I'm missing something.. shouldn't it be a little bit closer to 1,000? I don't know.

lol, sorry for all the questions..
