Starter Laptop

Hi everybody,
I am new here and I have a Compaq Presario CQ60. I bought this as a starter laptop even though I have been using computers since I have been around 5 years old.The main reason is because I don't have access to high speed internet where I live.I figured I would start with this laptop because it was relatively cheap and it had a dial-up port.Is this a good laptop for the price(around $400)My most important issue is that high speed is not supposed to come into my area for another 2 years and I have noticed that almost all laptop/desktop companies have stopped making dial up accessible computers.If I had to buy one of these computers is there a way that I could use dial-up?I have tried various mobile hotspots/broadband cards and none of them work good.

The only chance yo uhave is to get an external modem to use with the laptop.

this is true, can't you get one of those USB to modem sticks? dont know if they still make those

check mobile phone companies (orange or whatever you guys have there) they may offer you internet through your phone, or usb modem
