Any way to have 3D without buying an expensive new HDTV? (PC to 1.3 HDMI HDTV)

I know my computer will run 3D, and from what I've seen my TV can handle it, just not at 1080p (1080i instead). I have a LG 42LH30. It supports HDMI 1.3 only, with 60hz refresh rate at 1080p.

Is there any way to play games on my PC in 3D without having to buy an expensive new HDTV? Could the PC itself duplicate the image then send it to the HDTV rather than relying on the HDTV to duplicate the image?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
