Hi -

Have any of you guys come across this before:

"USB device over current status detected, computer will shut down in 15 seconds".

It's happening as soon as I switch it on.

Take all USB devices off. Reinsert them one by one, until you get this error again. Most likely, your BIOS got confused.

If this does not work, reset BIOS, by removing the watch battery, wait a few minutes, and put back in.

Have tried your advice but still the same thing happening, now it says:

"CMOS Checksum Bad

USB device over current status detected"

Any ideas?
thanks.

Moved to Hardware area. This is not a Windows issue if you cant get past the BIOS.

I had a computer brought in with that problem a few months ago. A power supply didn't fix it but a new motherboard did.

Cant get into the BIOS. This is starting to look like a new motherboard and i cant afford it just before christmas aswell! nIGHTMARE! thanks for your help though.
