Hello all I am working on building a new computer for my parents but i have never done this before so i need help making sure im not doing anything stupid. The computer will run dual monitors on it and be used mainly for office tasks such as quickbooks, excel etc...I want it to last for a long time, our current one has lasted a good 8 years, and also be able to do occasional video downloading, photo editing etc. Planning on keeping the price under 600 dollars and lower price without sacrificing performance too much is always good! Anyway heres what i've picked out so far. Please let me know if things are not compatible or not needed. Oh and i'm getting a student discount on the OS so don't include that in the price. And thanks in advance!
For the processor, would a quad core offer much improvement? It's listed as the second one
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX445WFGMBOX
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor ADX640WFGMBOX
For memory I was going to pick up two of these
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
Power Supply:Its a bit overkill but its on sale so eh
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
For my case
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
For my hard drive: Torn between getting the tera byte for only 11 dollars more...but do we really need that much space?

CD/DVD burner
Newegg.com - Sony Optiarc Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA CD/DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners
Graphics Card. I'm a bit iffy on the need for one, thought about downgrading to a cheaper one but not sure...Any advice here would be appreciated
Newegg.com - HIS H467QR1GH Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
And for the motherboard. Is this compatible with the hardrive? It only mentions the 6.0Gb/s connector and the hard drive is 3.0 Gb/s...
Newegg.com - ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Once again thanks a bunch!

Not too bad, but I don't know the chips too well.

I'd go for the 1T for 11 bucks more, as to get the 360gigs later, will cost a whole lot more than 11bucks.

For an office setup the 4670s just fine... You can easily drop the power supply though unless you plan on a much bigger gpu. But looking at the prices, wow...
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply will work, but its only 6 bucks cheaper.
You technicaly get away with a 430cx at 20bucks after rebates too, but for a 5plus year wanted life, i'd go with the 550vx or 650tx
