A new driver for my ATI Radeon HD 5770 was released. I uninstalled my old driver, and tried to install the new driver. I ran Driver Sweeper before installing the new driver.

Now, when I try to install the new driver, I get some sort of error.
In the device manager, there is no Display Adapter tab.
Under the "Other Devices" tab, there is a "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" device shown.

I could use some advice here. I appreciate your guys' help. Thanks a lot, guys.

Ok, I have managed to get the "Display Adapter" tab to show up again in Device Manager. It shows "Standard VGA graphics adapter". The ati card is not shown there.

I try to install the ATI driver, and it still fails.

Thanks for the help guys.

Did you happen to turn off your onboard video? if there is one.

Did you install just the drivers, or catylist as well? Does it show up in CCC?

I don't think that I did. If I did, I definitely didn't mean to. I did reinstall Catalyst after I started getting this error. Nothing really shows up when I open Catalyst, Hydragrid is the only thing that shows up.

Thanks for your time

Sounds like a problem with the cards bios. I would report it to the manufacturer.

You maybe able to manually install the driver.

Ok, I got the video card problem fixed. Now other stuff is messing up. Oh well, lol it's good enough for now.

Thanks for your help, everyone.
