Hello,

I am currently planing to build my first comuter. I have a majority of the components chosen that fit my budget, and am a bit under what I can spend.

What I have so far:

-Antec NSK4482B ATX Mini Tower Case Black 3X5.25 2X3.5EXT 3X3.5INT Front USB Audio with 380W PSU
-Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H AMD880G mATX AM3 DDR3 1PCIE CrossFireX DVI HDMI GBLAN SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
-AMD Athlon II X4 640 Quad Core Processor AM3 3.0GHZ 2MB L2 Cache 95W 45NM Retail Box
-Corsair XMS CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 4GB 1X4GB DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9-24 RAM
-Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive OEM
-Pioneer DVR-218DBK CD/DVD-RW 22X OEM SATA DVD Burner W/ Labelflash Support Black
-Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64BIT Dvd Oem

Basically, I have another 60 dollars to spend, and forsee two options.:
1. I spend the money to get 8gb of ram (2x4gb sticks)
2. Instead of getting the Athlon X4 640 Processor, I could use the 60$ to upgrade to a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Quad Core Processor 3.2GHZ AM3 8MB Cache 125W Retail Box.

I am trying to figure out which choice makes the most sense. I have mostly basic computer needs, web browsing, MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Front Page, some video and photo editing, and some light gaming. I simply want to get the most preformance out of my money.

Any opinions would be appreciated !

Firstly, no one really needs 8Gig of ram.. but it'll be better if you go with a 2x4Gig set.

Whats your budget, and from where are you getting the parts from?

The black is your best upgrade to your current setup.

Welcome to TF
