Max internet speed.

First of all, I'm not sure if this belongs in this forum or not, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

Anyway.

I have highspeed internet, but I still manage to only get 80/90 KB sec on any downloads. I have no idea why. I've checked my connections and everything and I have no idea what to do.

Any ideas?

What kind of router do you have? What program is downloading at this speed?

Are you running wireless? If so what kind of wireless adapter do you have? If wireless what is the current speed listed under your "Wireless Network Connection Status"?

What speed have you paid for? 'highspeed' isn't very specific. Keep in mind that companies advertise the speeds as 'up to 4mb', so you're not always going to get full speed.

No, for wireless it's fairly decent. However I think paton believes that that is your actual internet connection speed

As in, not the wireless connection to your router. Unless you do actually have 162MB internet, in which case I concur with paton
