how about this one?

Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Only about 25 bucks more than the OCZ and its a sata3........i don't know much about CRUCIAL though.

thoughts?

As long as you have a SATA 6.0Gb/s port, I'd get it. I know some will argue against it because of the lack luster write time, but personally I'm more concerned with read because of how little I write to my SSD. If you only have SATA 3.0Gb/s, it's not worth it as it's going to bottleneck your reads.

If you're set on getting an SSD that has a higher read than SATA II supports but you don't have any SATA III ports, I'd look into a SATA III controller card.

a few questions.....sorry to be a pain
1. Would you say the OCZ would be better?

2. i have 3 sata HDDs installed already on this pc. these should get along with the SSD, right?

3. sata 2 vs sata 3----would the difference between the two be worth holding out for a sata 3?

The vertex 2 is the better drive. Sata 3 likely won't matter until the next generation of drives are released.
