Laptop & HDMI issue

Hi all,

Yesterday I bought a simple HDMI cable to be able to view my laptop's contents on the tv -
I am able to view the contents on the tv just fine, but there is no sound.
I am using an HP ProBook 4520s and Windows 7 Professional.
I've tried searching for similar issues but feel like I've been going in circles without any definite direction. Someone did suggest that it was a Windows 7 issue - is this true?

Any help is most appreciated.

I have an EEEBox with HDMI. You need to change the audio output from onboard sound to the HDMI. Hope this helps.

Last night I tried toggling the audio levels from the hdmi volume option - but it did not do anything. Is there an option/setting I am overlooking?

You need to change the default output.

Need to change the default to ATI HDMI Output. Currently set to Speakers.

There might be the possibility that his laptop GPU does not support sound via HDMI, only video.

If it is in sound config, it does support it.

Doesn't look like it, you have latest GFX drivers?
