Games keep lagging for one sec

I've also noticed today that same movie I have on my laptop which I copied from my brother's laptop, lagged twice like it fast forwarded a sec or stopped but it was a kind of lag. In part where it didn't lag in my bro's laptop. Ram? I'm starting to feel it's ram and I hope it's ram only. Ram is dirt cheap now.
