what software.....

was wanting to access my computer at home and its files from another computer like from work or someone elses house. what software would I have to install on the computer at home and would the same software have to be installed from the other computer? I know its like remote access.......srry i guess i'm being a little lazy to do a search.....ah hell, i'll do a google and see what i can find and if anyone else has any suggestions on GOOD software (specially free) for this please post.

yeah and gotomypc sounded sooooo sweet and exactly what i was looking for but its a bit expensive @ $20 a month subscription. PCAnywhere is $$$ also.
