There is a different processor fan on it, I bought the processor as OEM not retail, so it didn't come with one.

The Bios said it was at 88C no lie. Whether it was being accurate or not

The fan is a:

Pymax cooler
Extreme Cooler
High Performance for Overclocking
High Air Flow & Pressure
Ball bearing Fan for longer life span.
Cooling Fan: 80 * 80 * 25MM
Heat Sink: AL6064 / Copper Clylinder(optional)
Heat Sink Dim: 83 * 68 *40 (D*W*H)
Rated Voltage: 12v
RPM: 3500 +/- 10%
Bearing type: Ball bearing
Accessory: Thermal grease

Probably more to do with your board, ram, things such as that besides your heatsink....the 2600+ is stock 2.0 right? so 300MHz gain? Unless you're saying that your temps were too high to try it in the first place and that heatsink allowed the temps to come down far enough for you to OC :p
