Final design and yes single card, 1456 all together, sure beats the approximate 1600 of an alienware of the same spechs. especially when you factor in the rebates. Pretty sexy if I may say so myself =) But will the components cooperate? I personally think they will but I think you guys should double check so Im not paying 1.4k for nothing

Radeon 6870 is faster than the 5850 and cheaper.

dont get a caviar Green drive, those arent for operationg systems get a caviar black drive ( 7200rpm ) this one:

the mother board you chose is the wrong kind for your processor, get this combo motherboard and processor to save you money:

sorry im using words like " wrong ", " sucks " and " garbage " but thats they way it is. if you do the changes that im suggesting you have a kick *** little rig, with LOADS of head room for future expansion

Wow thank you, but the power supply is powerful enough correct? I was worried about that. And I heard somewhere that you only pay tax on new egg if you live in CA... is this true?

the powersupply you are getting is PLENTY, you could even put another 6870 in there and would still have plenty of power. like i said, you will be set for the next 3 - 4 years as far as future proofing goes. in a year or so when a new graphics card comes out, that is only $240 and twice as fast as yours, grab that throw it in there and you will be good to go. future proofing is the way to go and you have plenty of head room.

newegg charges tax from any state that has sales tax, and yes, California is one of those states unfortunately ( thats where i live )

I should also add from experience, don't grab a WD Green, get a WD Black. I carried over a couple Greens from my now defunct file server and I'm not too stoked on them. Definitely not a system breaker and they're usable, but building a rig from scratch and given the option, you're much better off with a 750GB or 1TB Black.

I'm assuming Bill Me Later is just like a line of credit from a store. You'll have to apply for it.

Is there anything I should remember or anything I should get to help me out in making the computer?

Only things to remember:
1. Static buildup is bad. So remember, as long as you touch a metal part on the computer case every now and then, you should be fine.
2. On that note, don't work on carpet
3. Install the CPU, CPU heatsink and fans, and the ram before you put the motherboard into the case. It just makes it easier.
4. Remember to install the risers on the case (the little metal things that screw into the case behind your motherboard.

Yeah Im buying one of those 15 piece toolkit and a anti-static wristband. ohhh and besides a basic mouse, keyboard and sound system im gonna be getting a red cathode light kit for the side. And a nice little 5.25 accessory case, what else am I gonna do with 7 drive bays?
