Internet connectivity issue with Internet Explorer

Hello,

I just upgraded to IE 7 and now I am not able to get online. My Firefox is working fine, so I know there's an issue with Internet Explorer and possibly the settings. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for your response. I have no reason not to upgrade, I just assumed not to since it offered an upgrade to IE7 and I am running an old system. It's a Sony VAIO Pentium 4 with 1500 MHz, 1.49 GHz, 512 of RAM. When I launch IE, it just says 'connecting' and does nothing. My Firefox connects just fine. I am using a RoadRunner (Time Warner Cable) cable modem.

IE7 had allot of problems but still doesnt explain this. every thing on default settings?

Have you tried upgrading to IE8 since that is the latest version of the browser? Have you tried the IE Reset Tool?

OK, now it's even worse. I upgraded to IE8 and the window/program doesn't even launch. HELP!
