The Video card I want to install is a :
3D Fuzion 3DFR4000P GeForce MX4000 128MB 128-bit DDR PCI Video Card

If anyone can help or let me know any information I might be missing would be great.

I also, have another question. Does this card require a power cord from my power supply to be connected to it?

The MX4000 does not require additional power.

Go into your BIOS and disable the onboard graphics. That may entail setting the shared memory to zero. Then switch your VGA cable from the onboard to the graphics card output and reboot.

Is the card known to be good?

I'd install it in the board, but keep my monitor plugged into the onboard graphics (leaving bios alone) until i've confirmed drivers are installed and stable. Then go into the bios and disable the onboard and switch the monitor over to the new PCI card.

If you're having troubles past that point, you should be able to boot into safe mode using the expansion card for video to further troubleshoot in device manager.
