Any opinions on the components I've picked, or maybe other ones that could be good, would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Thanks for the recommendation, that looks like a good way to save around $50!

Let me know if you have any other advice.

Thanks again!
Chris

It's a bit flexible. I think right now, with all the components I've picked, it's around 1600-1700, which admittedly, is a bit steep. However, I'd be willing to part with that much money for a quality computer that would be reliable for awhile, and stave off becoming obsolete.

Looks like you have done a pretty good job, that will be a killer rig.....have fun and congrats.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Those are some good ways to keep the budget down. Do you mind me asking why you recommend against the samsung drive though? Just curious, because from many comments and reviews I read (mostly on newegg.ca, but also did some searching for some others), most people seemed to have a positive view of it. Totally not bashing your suggestion though, just trying to learn as much as possible! I'll deff look into the Wester Digital drives.

The Black series are very fast and have a five year warranty, so that's the reason I would go with one. The larger F3 drives are just as fast as the Blacks, but not the 500GB.
