pc lags during search

onboard video is not designed for gaming, if you want a descent performance increase but don't want to spend a lot, I say you should get a 9600 XT or 9800 Pro

yeah ok will get another g card in a month or two but gaming is not my main problem my pc lags when i do a search and i mean i have no clue why! i have plenty of ram and every thing so i will find out what motherboard i have and let you know

in those specs doesnt it show my fsb is only 266mhz?

I think it's 2x266 = ~533MHZ
P4's come with a 400MHZ, 533MHZ or 800MHZ FSB

so should i maybe invest in a 800 mhz and a good graphics card?

well that's up to you really, it would make it faster, you might have to get a new motehrboard that supports an 800MHZ FSB unless your's already does
if your motherboard doesn't support an 800MHZ FSB, and you do end up upgrading, I'd suggest you get an Athlon 64 3000+ in socket 939 and an Asus A8V or a Gigabyte motherboard
a good graphics card is anything from a 9600 upwards
you would prolly spend maybe $500 on those, and it should be much faster

I'm planning to get my own PC by the end of the year so I'm not stuck on the slow 500MHZ family PC

well i have ordered i think its called a atec motherboard with a 800mhz fsb, a geforce 9600 pro graphic card and a ibm 160 gb hard drive do u guys think this is a good combo? and most importantly do u think this will help me out with my probs?
