I'm looking to build a new computer without salvaging any parts from my current computer. I intend to build a computer primarily for gaming and 3D digital modeling using programs such as ZBrush and Maya 3D. I may look into overclocking it in the future, but as of now I simply need to put together the list of parts. Budget lies around $800 and includes the chassis/case and anything inside. I'd also appreciate recommendations for a decent monitor, mouse, and simple keyboard with backlighting, which are not to be included in the budget. The aesthetics of the case mean nothing to me, simply find one that does the best job. You are the one putting the build together so you may choose AMD or Intel; it doesn't matter to me as long as you meet the budget or are moderately close.

Its a tad over 800 but i did not want to skimp on CPU. I really wanted to give you an i7 930 because of the 3D work can take advantage of the faster CPU and triple channel RAM but without GPU it was over 800.

These are usually a personal preference thing but

For the hard drive, why pick a bare drive? From what I understand a bare drive is just the drive itself and no cords or manual. What makes the RAM compatible with the rest of the computer or is all RAM equally compatible? Also, what about an optical disk drive?
Thanks for at least attempting.
