Looking to upgrade my current system

I'm just asking i just know the i7 supports hyper threading and i'm trying to get best bang for buck. I havent used any of the i series yet, so i have no experience with how they perform. I'm just a very thorough person. So you've convinced me to get an i5-760, do you have a recommended cooler for it? I know i'll need one if i'm overclocking.

I'm just being very thorough, i think i am going to stick with that i5 -760 it seems like a good price but do you have a cooler you would recommend for it? preferably something < $50 ?

Well depends on air coolers really if you want something ~50. My True120 with silent Noctua fans keeps my i5 nice and cool at 4.2ghz. If you didnt care about noise you could use some better faster fans to cool it even more. I think you can get a True120 for about 50 bucks these days.

Well I'm definitely referring to air cooling. So ill check one of those out. I'm not really worries about noise but I don't want something really abnoxious.

Other coolers you could check out are the Xigmatek S1283, the Prolimatech Megahalems, The True120 like i mentioned, and Thermalright makes other very capable coolers as well. I would mention Corsairs H50/70 but they are to pricey.

which should I get? the specks are the same but the price is quite different.

Cheaper price of course but i have to warn that the specs are not the same. The Ripjaws are 9-9-9-24 with a 2T command rate and the Mushkins are 7-8-7-24 with a timing of 1T.
