Crash/ Moniter Sleeps out of no where

My gaming rig has ran quite smoothly for quite a while. I upgraded my GPU to the GeForce 470GTX and a new 23" LCD moniter. My friends are starting up another Darkest Hour clan and went I played for around 5 minutes, the screen just went black, the skype session quit and couldn't hear anyone, and the screen said Moniter is going to sleep. The computer kept running but the moniter was off and couldn't get the desktop back. Same thing happened a little while later with Dawn of Discovery. I have a feeling either the Video Card is overheating or it's problems with the moniter. Any advice?

As you said, sounds like your gfx card is overheating. Check the temps, and make sure your case is clear of dust. Download a gpu stress tester (e.g. furmark) and a temp monitor program (Everest, speed fan, rivatuner, etc)

Even RealTemp. But yes, your GFX is most likely overheating.
