Hp printer is not installing correctly.

I have been having this since 3 weeks with my mothers computer.
I have the correct drivers installed on the machine but windows 7 pro keeps shutting down printer services and the spooler each time the driver is installed or repair installed.
Her computer says the USb device is unrecognized ?

One thing I have tried yet was install her chipset drivers would that help fix the problem or not ?
She has a deskjet1520.

Uninstall the printer. Uninstall any printer drivers you've tried. Download these drivers (assuming Win7 Pro x86 not x64):

With the printer unplugged from the pc, start the installation. You will be prompted about halfway through to connect the Printer.
