8 pin connector when only 4?

I just got my new mobo after a RMA, my PSU has the 8 pin connector for the mobo but it splits into 2 4's

the mobo only has a 4 pin, what should i do?!

Should i just stick a 4 pin inside it and leave the other 4 pin hanging out?

yes. that's why it's designed as a 4+4 pin

Ah ok cheer's, well im on it now, and i didnt need to reformat?

im guessing its installed the up-todate drivers allready?

or are my old drivers still on here?

You'll have no mobo/chipset drivers, or even network drivers... If you're Vista, you'll no longer be activated either.

You're going to have to do a repair of windows.

Im on Windows XP at the moment, but next friday im geting windows 7

XP means just do a repair IF it won't boot right, but might work without th drivers right away.
