NEC FE1250+ problem

ive got this monitor from ebay. ive installed a driver for it and got latest for my video card. problem is the colour. i can alter the blue green and red in the on screen menu. the problem is when i try to alter the red nothing happens but yet the bar i use to alter it is red and it is displayed perfectly so i dont know if the red on the monitor is gone or it is just sum other problem that i can fix myself.

Is it a CRT? Seems like the electron guns are going bad. I thinks it's only a matter of time before it becomes unusable, unless you get it serviced.

yea its crt. where could i get it serviced and how much does it cost on average? thanks

Have you tried hooking up the monitor to a different system?

no but i have tried hookin a different monitor to the same system and it works fine. im looking into finding a cable to see if that helps because ive read that damaged cables can cause this kind of problem. if not i think im gonna be looking at a hefty tv repair mans bill

problem sorted. duff cable. cost £5 to sort
