I'm looking at building a pc to replace my old Dell (I think it is a P4 w/ 1GB Ram)
Anyways, I want a i7 with a MSI GTX 460 (cyclone cooler) and a 690 II by coolermaster...
is it possible with my budget?
I will be playing games, every once and a while video editing.

EDIT: I do not own any extra peripherals.

impossible...

with that kind of budget, here is the best i can do...

actually... im not good at low budget builds, im not going to even try.. ill let someone else chime in... like Muffin man or Trotter

okay... took me about 30 minutes to put this together...

This will be able to play all but the most demanding games at high settings. It will be able to play games like Crysis at medium graphics and resolution respectably. and in a year or 2, throw another 460 graphics card in there and you will have a beastly little rig.

i didnt include a keyboard/mouse/speakers because well... you can get all that for free or dirt cheap on craigslist or under your desk/closet/from friends.

this is the best i can do with this budget.

$879.67 - 40.00 in mail in rebates (thats with shipping to Ohio) This does NOT include windows I could not figure out how to fit that in without going even further down in the processor department. Now with that said you can always look at a Tri-core AMD with that motherboard I listed and hope you can unlock the 4th core with it. Hope this helps

nice build Gordylll, almost the same as mine, but mine is cheaper ( before MIR ) and faster... the 460 is better then the 5770

also, the 460 i suggested has an awesome cooler on it, you would be able to get a nice overclock with that which make it pull that much more ahead of the 5770. i also included a CPU cooler, so you will be able to overclock the processor.

and a note to Burningskyline, i highly reccoemend after you build this system, oveclock everything you can, that will help you get the best bang for your buck.

Yeah I saw yours after I posted and was thinking that 460 might be the way to go. I still like the idea of going with a tri-core though on that board and trying to unlock the 4th core. What do you think? Also your formatting is owning me but my monitor is bigger ;)

Pay no attention to this the 460 will put you out of budget if you go with the build I suggested just stay with the 5770.
