that board you chose has the last gen chip set on it. i havnt read any of the thread, but this is probably the best board for the price as far as AMD boards

Not sure about it being a last generation chip set. I do know the Gigabyte has a number of reasons for purchasing over the ASUS you listed:

1. Price: Gigabyte and New Egg got together and lowered the price $30...yes, from $139.99 to $104.99.

2. USB 3: The listed ASUS board has no USB 3

3. Quality of build and reliability: I've never had any issues with a Gigabyte motherboard and I have purchased many over the years. The ASUS MB you listed is having a lot of RMA's at New Egg.

4. Some of my AMD friends who are deeply involved with AMD suggested I purchase the Gigabyte MB because they have done extensive testing with it and tell me it is one of the best for the price at this place and time.
