I am trying to reduce my boot time to indirectly save power (My parents have finally complained), so i gotta turn my PC off every night, and i hate waiting for my PC to turn on so i never used to turn it off.

Problem is since i got my SSD, although when it starts loading windows it does it in 15 to 20seconds, my mobo is slow. I press the power button and it's 8 or 9 seconds to show the logo screen, it then does an AHCI check because of my new SSD of some sort which takes about 5 or 6 seconds, then after that theres a screen which seems to just list my DVD drive in bright blue for about 3 seconds. Then another screen called API check or something similar for 2 seconds. Only after all this will windows itself start to load.

Any ideas how to reduce this ? I've done some windows alterations so its on No GUI boot using maximum ram and all 4 processor cores, but thats all.

On some mobos, there is an option to do a "quick boot".

I dont think that you can avoid the post, where the mobo checks the hardware.

Do some research on your mobo.
