yes but GENTLY. I have done it several times, and make sure they are properly aligned

They are very fragile.

As said above they are very fragile and they can be bent back. The best method is to use a mechanical lead pencil. The type that you have to push the end of it to eject the lead out to use. Just use the tip of it without having a piece of lead in there. Do it gently and slowly. Dont use to much pressure or you will break the lead right off and destroy all chances of using that CPU.

I always found a credit card works best, I think mostly because its longer than the cpu and its straight

Not if you do it properly. And it can help the pin(s) is lined up correctly

ahh thanks guys just ended sending it back got a replacement but yea now i know what to do if i bend another one....

I've used the card method before and it worked to make sure the grid was perfectly aligned
