Well my laptop has been getting worse and worse. The screen flickers and freezes up. My mouse and everything still works when it freezes, but I can't see anything. Usually it goes away after a couple seconds. If I push the screen back a little bit it fixes itself. It happens most often when the web page I visit is a darker color or if I watch a video. It usually happens a couple times a minute, but more often if the screen is very dark. My lcd has been replaced twice by HP for other issues when dropping my laptop.

Could it be my video card going out? I have a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT. Or is it as simple as a screen connection issue? Any recommendations? You can see my full laptop specs in my signature. Thanks

That dark screen, as you describe it, seems incorrect. A certain color would not activate a fault. Try making your desktop dark. Does this do anything?

If I darken the screen by lowering the power settings it doesn't change. It's when a web page or video is a darker color. As I write this on a close to white page, it's not flickering at all. However, when I switch tabs to a page with a background that is black it immediately begins flickering and freezes. The dark screen definitely makes a difference. This is why I think it may be the video card. However, pushing the screen back doesn't make too much since as a fix. Not sure :\

Well it hasn't always been here. So obviously it is some kind of failure. I suppose I'll first open my screen up and make sure it's all plugged in snug.
