Hello all
i need some advice about this PC i'm purchasing
=================================================================
Ok my current PC has:
- EVGA 780i SLI MoBo-
- Q6600 Quad core CPU ( Which only works with 3 cores, if i try to enable a 4th core windows 7 crashes whenever it loads / previously on XP always BSOD) on 3 cores 85% of the time it loads windows

- EVGA 8800 GT SuperClocked edition

- GIGABYTE 750W PSU ( and it sucks, only has 2x 8 pin connectors )

- OCZ 2x 1 GB ram DDR2 800 MHz ( it looks exactly like Newegg.com - OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2RPR10664GK)

-i got a Sony 24x DVD writer and i got 3x WD HDDs all at 7200 RPM ( 2x 500GB ) (1x 1TB )

=================================================================
now for my potential upgrades:
-EVGA P55 FTW MoBo
- i7 870 ( which has the same price as an i7 860, wierd )
- GTX 470 card ( already bought this )
- my old 8800 GT as PhysX card
- 850 watt PSU ( maybe higher ??? )
- Ripjaw series 2x2 GB ram DDR3 1333 MHz ( is 4 GB enough?? and is 1333 MHz good ? )
these are the ram in case you were wondering Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL
=================================================================

Now for some questions:
1- Should i buy an X58 MoBo for the 8x ATA connectors and the 3.0 USB support ?

2- What kind of PSU to support my system, Overclocking my CPU to about 3.5 GHz and MAYBE OC my GPU, also supporting my PhysX card, the 3 HDDs , DVD drive and ram sticks.

3- does this combo work well with eacother ?

I appreciate any help, thank you in advance.

P.S: I don't wanna spend over 1.2k in cash.

In order to use a X58 mobo you have to get an i7 900 series cpu. A good 750 watt power supply will be more than enough for your system. You should get a 4GB (2x2GB) kit of DDR3 1600 for the i7 870 system or a 6GB(2x2GB) kit of DDR3 1600 with a i7 900 series cpu.

Yeah mate thanks.
But what i'm asking is if i SHOULD buy an X58 for the extra features and support for socket 1366 CPU's ?

and will the 750 watt PSU support all my needs ? ( OC my CPU - maybe OC my GPU - PhysX card - 3 HDD's ( more to come ) , the DvD writer and an aftermarket CPU cooler ?

1366 is deffinatly more " future proof " than the 1156, there will be future processors comming out for 1156, i dont think that is going to die off for another few years, but that plat form is and will always be for budget builds, if you want raw power, then you are going to want to go with 1366... and does have better features, it really all comes down to what your budget is...
