Buying Logitech Keyboard / Mouse Combo (good deal?)

OR my current situation:
my existing mouse is screwing up, its doing multiple clicks on a single click (its old )
so I did only want to replace the mouse...

well, my box sets below my desk. so i have the mx3200 combo set and it has the USB thing that sits on top of my desk.

I tested/tried another wireless mouse (another logitech wireless mouse where you just plug in the USB connector).

I'm finding out, the mouse only works on the edge of my desk, NOT where I normally use the mouse (which is further away). so it seems I MUST have the USB stand that sits ON the desk for it to work good.

uhmmm... i just saw that I can buy another USB Stand for 10 bucks.

so maybe I only buy the extra usb stand and another mouse?

OR mabye the keyboard will work without the usb stand?
uhm.. i will test this now.


i'll switch the USB plugin with the one that the keyboard is using...

thanks for helping me... i just needed to write this post (think it through)
technically I don't need to buy anything at the moment

switching the USB plugs works.

eventually, will need to buy another mouse, but do that later, i iwll use the one i had for my laptop.

UHM.... okay, so what mouse do you like best?
best deal for the money?
and note, i can't see spending over 30-35 bucks for a mouse
my laptop mouse is a logitech 2.4 laser mouse, it was only like 25 bucks and works great.

I haven't bought a mouse in quite a long time. Right now I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000, it seems to work OK for my purposes.
